December 2008 PDF Print E-mail

December 22nd - Sorry for the long delay, folks. I needed to focus my attention on my day job (t-shirts and web design), and was talked into launching another business in the garment industry. A guy's gotta make a livin'! Rest assured I haven't forgtten about my lil websites here, and have over three dozen articles to wrap up, over the holidays. The bad news ... most of our favorite shows are on mid-season or season breaks. The good news ... I have more time to write at night, and get caught up on all those juicy little films waiting for me to watch and review. And most of what is on my Xmas wish list are cool DVDs, so lots to write about until the returning and new tv shows show up in mid-January take over most of my free time. Until then, I am playing catch up to bring y'all more content. I am also thinking about adding a video game section for 2009.

Keep warm, and wishing everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Cool

1942-2008

To say Michael Crichton was an amazing author, director or producer would be an understatement ... and his passing, after a private battle with cancer deeply saddens me. Especially, following recent announcements of a 4th Jurassic Park film, and a remake of Westworld. I remember getting soooo excited when the sequel, Futureworld, came out ... that I spent most of my newspaper route money that summer, sneaking in (had to buy tickets to a non-R-rated flick, at the time) to watch it over and over again.

It feels very odd to me that I would have started this website, with an article of this past year's mini-series, a re-telling of  The Andromeda Strain.

Forums are back up, and All 4 SciFi is officially launched!

Thanks to all my faithful pals for helping me test things out around here Laughing you know who you are!

I am currently rounding out things for the rest of the site, and will (I promise) get caught up with this ever-growing pile of articles to add here. I am also launching All 4 Fantasy and All 4 Horror, and getting forums set up there, as well as tidying the couple of dusty areas. Chat is now available to registered members on all three websites (yes, you must register on each one).

One of the many reasons for the delay of this launch, is helping our resident pal GOONKA get her new fan site built for actor, Daz Crawford ... check it out: http://www.dazcrawfordonline.com

July 4th, 2008 - Friday nights are typically my SciFi nights, reserved for watching my current favorites: Battlestar Gallactica (on another break, until it's final episodes of the series in 2009), Stargate Atlantis (new season begins next week), and Doctor Who. However, like most holidays, the scifi channel is running a July 4th marathon of old Twilight Zone shows. Which I might have been in the mood for, but I was more an Outer Limits fan. So, after 8 hours of tweaking the website, I decided to settle down with a good book. In this case, a FREE eBook download from an Aussie Science Fiction author, Simon Hayes. It was the first in his Hal Spacejock series, that he has sooo graciously provided as a free download to help promote his fourth release, No Free Lunch (is there irony here, or what, gang?). So, this will be the first scifi novel to be reviewed by yours truly, for the public launch of All 4 SciFi website. More about this novel, it's author and links to this $17.95 novel FREE download, after I finish reading, Hal Spacejock by Simon Hayes.
