BattleStar Galactica PDF Print E-mail

I probably don't need to remind everyone to watch the premiere of The Final Episodes, aka Season 4.5, of BattleStar Galactica, tonight. But, since SciFi Channel provided a widget for me to use here, might as well take advantage of it.

BattleStar Galactica remains the best science fiction series currently on television, IMHO. And I will hate to see it end ... as all shows must. I remember having all the mixed feelings others had, when a remake to the classic series was announced. Starbuck is a GIRL, WTF?!? ... LOL, but I was pleasantly surprised, and Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace quickly became my favorite of the bunch. I have been trying to make a ranking list of my all-time favorite science fiction series, but having trouble deciding if BSG is #1 ... knocking off some older classics like the original Star Trek, or even short-lived series, such as Firefly. But, that should show just how impressed I am to this show.

Anyway, enjoy the last episodes, as I will ...all too soon it'll be time to complete my DVD collection of this remarkable science fiction series.

Here's the latest round-up of new and returning scifi, fantasy and horror tv series for 2009, including cable and movie networks, mini-series, cancelled and rerun returns. Some shows that have been renewed don't have scheduled return dates. And some shows are on the brink of cancellation, but nothing official, as yet. But, I will update this page as new information comes across my desk.

December 22nd - Sorry for the long delay, folks. I needed to focus my attention on my day job (t-shirts and web design), and was talked into launching another business in the garment industry. A guy's gotta make a livin'! Rest assured I haven't forgtten about my lil websites here, and have over three dozen articles to wrap up, over the holidays. The bad news ... most of our favorite shows are on mid-season or season breaks. The good news ... I have more time to write at night, and get caught up on all those juicy little films waiting for me to watch and review. And most of what is on my Xmas wish list are cool DVDs, so lots to write about until the returning and new tv shows show up in mid-January take over most of my free time. Until then, I am playing catch up to bring y'all more content. I am also thinking about adding a video game section for 2009.

Keep warm, and wishing everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Cool

Michael Crichton - We'll Miss You PDF Print E-mail

1942-2008

To say Michael Crichton was an amazing author, director or producer would be an understatement ... and his passing, after a private battle with cancer deeply saddens me. Especially, following recent announcements of a 4th Jurassic Park film, and a remake of Westworld. I remember getting soooo excited when the sequel, Futureworld, came out ... that I spent most of my newspaper route money that summer, sneaking in (had to buy tickets to a non-R-rated flick, at the time) to watch it over and over again.

It feels very odd to me that I would have started this website, with an article of this past year's mini-series, a re-telling of  The Andromeda Strain.
