The CyberKing will rise tonight!

Rut ro ... Two "Doctors" occupying the same space and time? That's the premise for tonight's Doctor Who Special: The Next Doctor on BBC America. The Doctor tardis's his way back to London, on Xmas Eve, 1951, where the return of those ever-so-relentless Cybermen have returned to wreak havoc upon the Earth. Here he meets up with ... um, himself, except the 'other' Doctor seems to be missing the memories of all previous Doctors. Not a good thing. So, who is this new Doctor? Who is the hot babe sidekick?? And, what has gotten the Cybermen all wound up this time???

Another Doctor Who Special: Planet of the Dead is slotted for Sunday, July 26 ... stay tuned. For info on both these specials and everything else Doctor Who, check out the BBC America website:

Premiering tonight on the SciFi Channel, is a film based on the pen-and-paper game - Mutant Chronicles. A review will follow (it's too involved for me to write up in time), but I wanted to give the heads up on it for y'all. It looks great, and the cast is amazing! Check out the Official Website after you check out the teaser clip:

Virtuality PDF Print E-mail

The creators of BattleStar Galactica return with a rather fresh twist to a scifi thriller with Virtuality, a two hour movie (or pilot for a new series ... Ronald D. Moore remains hopeful) premiering tonight on FOX. Now, FOX is on my chit list for dumping my favorite tv series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but I perked up when I heard about this latest project by BSG's Ronald D. Moore and Michael Taylor. And even more jazzed that Peter Berg, aka Hancock director, would direct the pilot, er movie. The cast ain't too shaby, either:

Probably the most anticipated new show for me is Joss Whedon's scifi tv series Dollhouse, premiering this Friday the 13th. While I was late jumping on the Buffy bandwagon, I was a HUGE fan of the all-too-short-lived series - Firefly. I mean think about it ... Joss Whedon (and his fans) pulled off the unthinkable by getting some closure to the cancelled tv series, by getting the film Serenity on the big screen. Who has ever achieved THAT ... in ANY tv genre?

Dollhouse is a secret facility managing a group of individuals, called Actives, who are "programmed" to basically do whatever a paying client wants them to do ... or be.

BattleStar Galactica PDF Print E-mail

I probably don't need to remind everyone to watch the premiere of The Final Episodes, aka Season 4.5, of BattleStar Galactica, tonight. But, since SciFi Channel provided a widget for me to use here, might as well take advantage of it.

BattleStar Galactica remains the best science fiction series currently on television, IMHO. And I will hate to see it end ... as all shows must. I remember having all the mixed feelings others had, when a remake to the classic series was announced. Starbuck is a GIRL, WTF?!? ... LOL, but I was pleasantly surprised, and Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace quickly became my favorite of the bunch. I have been trying to make a ranking list of my all-time favorite science fiction series, but having trouble deciding if BSG is #1 ... knocking off some older classics like the original Star Trek, or even short-lived series, such as Firefly. But, that should show just how impressed I am to this show.

Anyway, enjoy the last episodes, as I will ...all too soon it'll be time to complete my DVD collection of this remarkable science fiction series.
