What looks to have come straight from a first person shooter video game comes a new film for the SciFi Channel called Encrypt. Another post apocalyptic nightmare, Encrypt adds a different slant to the typical survivalist theme. Not all surviving mankind is living on the scraps of an abused mother earth. Some have actually profited from this scorched planet, living the lives of the rich and famous. These few with power and wealth don't squabble over their next meal. Instead, their cares are the same as before the disasters that have left the planet barren ... obtaining more possessions, such as locked away fine art and other rare treasures of the past.

In 2068 Los Angeles, one of the rich and powerful has been frustrated by past attempts at stealing from a nearby estate. This mansion has an advanced security system called ENCRYPT, created from the soul of a dead woman. She has killed off all other attackers, preventing anyone from taking what spoils lie within her lair.

  • Anton Reich, wealthy employer - played by veteran actor Art Hindle (horror classic Black Christmas, 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Brood, and Clive Barker's Saint Sinner)
  • Diana, the holographic "head" of the Encrypt security system - Vivian Wu (The Guyver and the television series Strange World)

But the wily mogul is not about to give up. He sends out a former marine to recruit a new team to take one more crack at the place. LaPierre seeks out his old war pal, Garth. Garth is leader of a small village which is slowly dying from starvation and sickness. Together they put together several ex-military specialists to crack through this advance security system, steal the goodies and more importantly - save the village.

  • LaPierre, former marine turned gun-for-hire - Steve Bacic (Andromeda, Dr. Hank McCoy aka The Beast in X-Men 2, and SciFi Channel's Threshold)
  • Garth, ex-Major now village leader - soap opera star, Grant Show
  • Fernandez, ex-recon - Naomi Gaskin (The Third Twin)
  • King, ex-sniper - Matthew G. Taylor (Chongo from Detroit Rock City)
  • Ebershaw, ex-tech - Wayne Ward

Encrypt premieres Saturday, June 14th, 2003 at 9pm on the SciFi Channel:
