Peter Weller (Buckaroo Banzai, RoboCop, Leviathan, Screamers and one my odd favorite classics, Naked Lunch) stars in this new Showtime SciFriday series, Odyssey 5. He and his space shuttle crew watch helplessly as the Earth is destroyed during one of their missions orbiting the planet. Usually, this kind of catastrophe would end a good sci fi flick, but thanks to some mysterious alien technology ... the crew is given a chance to go back in time, to attempt to alter the doomed fate of all mankind.

Will they succeed? ... well, my guess is that they will fail over and over again for several years worth of fun science fiction television series.

Most of the crew's cast are new to this genre, but the new series is written and produced by Manny Coto (Dr.Giggles, Strange World, and Outer Limits). Also no stranger to science fiction is Director David Carson (Smallville, Witchblade, Star Trek's Next Generation and Deep Space Nine).
