I wonder ... if Ed Wood was still alive, would he enjoy the extended success of sci-fi horror B movie king Roger Corman? And, unless you are Roger Ebert or some other gawd forsaken snobby prickish "critic" of film, how can anyone not appreciate the fine artistry of a Roger Corman flick? These are what we used to go to Drive-ins for ... ok, not really, but it was these films that helped us get high, get laid and just share good times with all your pals on a dull, saturday night with a simple, cheesy drive-in escapade. Personally speaking, I shared good times watching such films as Piranha, Battle Beyond the Stars and Humanoids from the Deep just as much as I had with the famed Friday the 13ths, Halloweens and Nightmares on Elm Street. Roger Corman has held an amazing 5 decades of work, no matter how slutty that work may be.

Not Like Us is pure Roger Corman. Take a couple of beautiful blonde alien siblings, one busty slut, one hunky prep, and stick em in the middle of a tiny rural town full of moronic humanoids, then sit back and watch the halirious carnage. Bodies begin to drop dead from some mysterious flesh eating disease, but the true nature of these deaths are far more gruesome. You see, the new neighbors - John and Janet Jones - are on a mission from their homeworld to deal with compatibility issues regarding human flesh. Hey look ... everyone has to have a career, right?

The family next door, the Clarks are having some marital problems. Sam Clark (Peter Onorati - Rocket Man) is a workaholic scientist trying to determine if there is an enviromental problem in the area. While his frustrated wife, Anita (Joanna Pacula - Virus and The Kiss) is bored with small town life raising their two children. Her only refuge is her mysterious new neighbors, and quickly finds a friend in Janet (Rainer Grant). Her brother John (Morgan Englund), however, is unhappy with his siblings growing attachment to a potential subject of thier little science project, and is busy working on the steady flow of available subjects within the town, typically seduced by his hot-to-trot sis.

When Anita Clark finally discovers the "secret" of what her nice neighbors are really up to, it's up to her to save her hubby and attempt to stop this bizarre alien conspiracy.

The 1995 film also campy performances by Annabelle Gurwitch (The Tower), musician Billy Burnette (Fleetwood Mac: Tango in the Night), Paul Bartel (the infamous flesh fest, Eating Raoul) and Clint Howard (all the Austin Powers films, frequent Ferengi in the Star Trek spin-offs, and who can ever forget his role as Balok in the 1966 Star Trek episode "The Corbomite Maneuver").
