WTF is this place?
Part Community (forums), Part Portal (links), Part Blog (reviews), Part News (previews), Part Interactivity (chat) ... basically, anything cool I can find relating to science fiction, and sharing scifi stuff with fellow fans.

WHO are YOU?
Welllll ... you can call me Ray, or you can call my Jay ... nevermind. My name Michael C. Ferguson,  aka CapricornOne - your host and webmaster here at All4SciFi.com ... I also run two other community portals: All4Horror.com and All4Fantasy.com ... and run a t-shirt business.

Why three nicknames, which one am I talking to now?
Well, the websites are run by me, myself and I ... CapricornOne (scifi), Mr.Sandman (horror), and TheGunslinger (fantasy). Yes, I do suffer from multiple personalities ... but, they keep me company when I get lonely. CapricornOne was the first nick I used, when I began building BBSs (pre-internet era). Bulletin Board Systems were like your own personal internet, that folks would dial into from their home computers. Capricorn One was a favorite 1978 scifi thriller of mine, starring James Brolin. At All 4 SciFi, and all things science fiction ... I am CapricornOne.

What's the deal with registration?
You don't need to register to view the website, forums or links. Registering is free, and easy ... and allows user to chat, post on the forums, submit interesting scifi links, and participate in upcoming hosted events and contests. Registering is limited to ages 13 and older, as per http://www.ftc.gov/ogc/coppa1.htm. Your privacy is as important to us, as it is to you. We don't SPAM (except the delicious meat-in-a-can) at anytime, anywhere or for any reason!

Why the gap between articles written 2001-2003, and recent articles beginning in 2008?
I ran various portals hosted by a service, between 2001-2003. Inspired by a fellow portal owner who ran a successful scifi resource and forums, I built the Portal of Horror and Fantasy Search Portal. To do something a little different from your average link site, I decided to preview and review all the books, films and tv shows I liked. There was a dispute between the host and a major search engine, and gradually, my paid hosted sites and free portals stopped becoming available. I decided to move my company site, and retire the portals. The portals were mainly intended to be a link resource, but the website and content were published from my web design software, fortunately, and weren't lost to the internet void. I have republished all the old articles, which will eventually go into the archives.

Why are you back with these new sites?
Well, with the evolution of Blogs and Content Management Systems, I felt I had more control over my websites than I had in the past. And, I really missed writing about all the cool stuff I was watching or reading. Making and selling t-shirts doesn't take up very much of my time, and gives me the chance to manage these new projects.

Are you a blogger, how come you don't write bad reviews, why can't I comment on your articles?
Now, why would anyone wanna give publicity to something that sucked??? I am not a blogger, nor a critic, nor a journalist. And yes, there are plenty of things I do not watch, or care to read ... just as there are things I hated (I have a ten minute rule, if it sucks in the first ten minutes, I turn it off or shut the book). There are plenty of paid media journalists, and writers and bloggers paid or not, who spew out whatever they want. But for me, I just wanna share the good stuff. Feel free to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly in chat and forums ... just be respectful, polite and preferably funny about whatever you need to rag about. And, be my guest to talk about me, my site and anything I write about ... I don't mind the free publicity!

Can I advertise on your website?
Someday, but not now. Not that I have anything against advertising or making a profit from my efforts here. It's just that these are new websites, and it takes time to develop a community and traffic that would be beneficial to potential sponsors. When that day comes, I will happily set that up and provide a rate sheet.
